Derek Wetter writes stories that teeter between hitting your funny bone and tingling your spine. He does this to help kids feel brave. To help them laugh through what might make them nervous. In his new series, Somewhere in Slime, he takes four friends through spooky adventures as they maneuver through the most ominous journey of all—middle school.
Although he spent his first twenty years living next to graveyards in eerie Ohio, Derek now lives in sunny San Diego with his wife and three children—where he longs for overcast days and dressing in layers. When he isn’t writing, Derek enjoys singing bad renditions of 80s pop songs, eating various types of cheeses, napping, and sipping black coffee. His other skills include illustration, design, and carrying all of the groceries from the car in a single trip. He also might be the only person to ever have a triceratops tooth in his mouth.
